Mexico Police Log

MEXICO — The following incidents were handled recently by the Mexico Police Department.

Accidents
Vehicles driven by Joseph Gonsalves, 37, Field Hill Road, Sumner, and Mark Touchette, 51, Roxbury, collided at 10:32 a.m., Jan. 19, on the Roxbury Road just over the town line with Mexico. Gonsalves' 2004 Volvo sedan sustained $3,500 damage. Touchette's 1997 Jeep Cherokee sport utility vehicle sustained $2,500 damage.

A deer was killed at midnight Jan. 13 when it was struck by a pickup truck driven by Michael Williams, 24, of Mexico, as he was driving on Highland Terrace. The truck sustained minor damage.

A 2007 Ford sedan driven by Geraldine Richards, 53, of Swift River Road, Byron, sustained $3,000 damage when Richards swerved off the Roxbury Road at 1 a.m. Jan. 13. She also struck two mailboxes valued at $100.

Joshua Daley, 21, of Hidden Meadow Lane, Dixfield, escaped injury when the 2000 Ford sedan he was driving skidded out of control at 1:40 a.m. Jan. 13 while rounding a curve on Route 2 in Dixfield. The vehicle hit a snowbank, bounced off a tree, flipped, and hit a fire hydrant, sustaining $4,000 damage.

Arrests

• Amanda McLeod, 22, of Route 2, Carthage, on a charge of operating under the influence, at 11:23 p.m. Jan. 16 on the River Road. She was released from the Mexico Police Department on an unspecified amount of unsecured bail, and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on March 2.

• Kendra Anderson, 26, of Riley Road, Mexico, on a charge of operating under the influence at 12:51 a.m. Jan. 14 on Canal Street, Rumford. She was released from the Mexico Police Department on $800 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on March 2.

• Rene Giberson, 22, Carlton Avenue, Mexico, on charges of violating conditions of release, possession of a pound of processed marijuana, and possession of Oxycodone pills at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at her residence. She was taken to the Oxford County jail. She is scheduled to be arraigned in Oxford County Superior Court in Paris on May 14.
