Cops raid Hells Angels

NEW YORK (AP) – Police raided the local headquarters of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club on Monday in response to a report that a woman may have been beaten there.

The unidentified woman was found outside the motorcycle club’s Manhattan home late Sunday night suffering from a head injury, police said. The woman, who is in her 40s, was hospitalized in serious condition.

After witnesses reported seeing the woman thrown out of the clubhouse, police detectives aided by heavily armed Emergency Service Unit officers returned there on Monday with a search warrant and looked for evidence of an assault.

As of Monday night, there were no arrests, police said.

A telephone message left on a machine at the local Hells Angels chapter was not immediately returned Monday.
