Couple accused of endangering child headed to court


LEWISTON — A Winthrop couple accused of leaving their baby daughter in a truck while they visited a Lisbon Street head shop Friday are scheduled to appear in 9th District Court here July 7.

Hours after their arrest Friday on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, Lyndsay Hall, 18, and Scott Babineau, 20, were released from the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn at about 6:30 p.m. Friday. She paid $200 cash bail and fees and he paid $190 cash bail and fees.

The couple left their 4-month-old girl in their unlocked truck with a barking dog next to her while they visited the shop, which sells smoking paraphernalia, incense and other items. They were arrested by a Maine State Police trooper, who was flagged down by people who noticed the infant in the truck.
