AUBURN — The Central Maine Community College Corporate and Community Services Department will offer “Human Resources Basics for Managers and Supervisors” from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, April 20 through May 25. The cost is $495 including participant materials, and is open to the public.
The course will give managers and supervisors critical knowledge to help reduce costly lawsuits, improve their ability to handle challenging human resource issues and effectively manage their employees. The program will explore the six functional areas of the human resource function including: human resource management, employment law, recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, employee development and performance management.
The course will be taught by Beverly MacCallum, SPHR. MacCallum is a human resources officer for Androscoggin Bank in Lewiston and holds a bachelors of science in business management from Bentley College and has earned her senior professional of human resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute.
