Courts, taxes, state budget

It has been my experience that judges seem to have only one thing in mind – “Get them in and out.” I don’t see them using much common sense. And many times the judgments seem quite unfair.

And on taxes, what gave Congress the right to increase the tax on cigarettes without any public notice or letting the public vote on the issue? Wouldn’t that be more fair? The public got to vote on the tax on soda and flavored water, why didn’t that happen for the cigarette tax?

On another topic, I hope the people who keep watch on the Maine budget aren’t going to be the same ones to watch over the federal stimulus money that comes to this state.
