MECHANIC FALLS – Members of the Pottle Works firewood processing operation received certificates of achievement after successfully completing a course in chain saw operation.

In order for the recipients, Dave Meserve, Nate Pepin and Chuck Hilton, to receive a certificate, they viewed a series of videos and took part in hands-on experience on safety and chain saw operation, which included understanding proper gear, safety rules, handling the saw, maintenance of the equipment and proper cutting procedures.

It was followed by a question-and-answer session, a written test and a practical exam on the site at the organization’s wood yard in Mechanic Falls.

Pottle Works is a work service program of Pottle Hill Inc., which is a progressive non profit organization providing services to people with developmental disabilities.
