PORTLAND — Daniel J. Garneau, 17, of Rumford, died Thursday, April 29, at the Maine Medical Center after a courageous battle with Leukemia. He was a resident of Somerset Street in Rumford.
Daniel was born in Lewiston, Nov. 13, 1992, a son of Jeffrey and Kimberley (Barker) Garneau. He was currently a junior at Mountain Valley High School, where he participated in football, basketball and baseball. He was scheduled to be tapped into the National Honor Society on April 30.
Dan was a well rounded, caring and respectful person. He was always putting others before himself.
Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Kim Garneau of Rumford; a brother, Kevin Garneau of Rumford; maternal grandmother, Suzanne Barker of Rumford Center; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Albert and Alice Garneau; and his maternal grandfather, Donald Barker.
