SOUTH PARIS — Deering Memorial United Methodist Church, the “stone church,” corner of Main and Church streets, invites everyone to worship during Holy Week.
Holy Week begins on Sunday, March 28, with Palm Sunday. A service will begin at 10 a.m. in the public parking lot behind the Paris Library, weather permitting. Attendees will then proceed into the parish hall to continue the service.
On Thursday, April 1, the church will observe Maundy Thursday with a service at 7 p.m. in the parish hall.
All are invited to join the ecumenical Good Friday Walk of the Cross on Friday, April 2. The walk will start at 1 p.m. at the Universalist Church in Norway and will proceed to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, with stops at the churches along the way.
On Easter Sunday, April 4, Deering will join with the Second Congregational Church in Norway and the First Congregational Church of South Paris for an Easter Sunrise Service. Attendees will meet at 6:15 a.m. in the parking lot of First Congregational and, weather permitting, carpool up East Oxford Road.
Deering Memorial will also have an Easter service at 10 a.m. April 4. The service will include the celebration of Holy Communion.
