Deficit improves


UNEXPECTED IMPROVEMENT: America’s trade deficit showed a bigger-than-expected improvement in February and was a lot better with China.

MIXED NEWS: The $65.7 billion deficit was still the third-highest on record.

CHINESE TRADE: Thanks to an increase of U.S. exports, the politically sensitive trade imbalance with China narrowed by 22.7 percent, and was the smallest since March 2005.
