FARMINGTON — The next Prescriptions for Health topic will be “Diabetes: Day to Day.” The presentation will take place from 5 to 7  p.m. Thursday, April 1, in the Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital and includes free dinner and dessert.

The program will inform those with prediabetes and diabetes to learn more about managing their condition. Family members and caregivers are also welcome. Prescriptions for Health is open to the public and free of charge.

Guest speakers will cover a variety of diabetes issues and participants will also be guided though simple stretching exercises.

Nancy Thomas, RN, CDE, one of the certified diabetes educators who will be on hand said, “People with diabetes frequently have problems with the nerves and circulation in their feet which can lead to serious problems including amputation. Through education such as this, we can lower the number of diabetes complications.”
