1953 – 2014
LEWISTON — Diane Laprise, 61, of Lewiston, went to meet her loving parents on Sunday, Dec. 21, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Aug. 27, 1953, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Laprise. She lived happily with her parents for half of her life and subsequently, she resided at d’Youville Pavilion until her death.
Diane spent many happy hours at the Social Learning Center. They made it possible for Diane to experience one of the highlights of her life in her performance with the Inspired Voices Group at the Franco-American Heritage Center. Diane’s family would like to express their gratitude for the Center’s constant efforts to develop friendships, education and stimulation for Diane.
A large part of Diane’s adult life was spent at d’Youville Pavilion.
Through the years, Diane has had many wonderful, loving and caring staff for which her family wishes to express their sincerest thanks and endless gratitude. We want to assure that this includes not only the current amazing group of staff members, but everyone who previously helped care for her. Through the years, Diane’s life was touched by many, too many to list here, but it is our hope that they know their kindness has been recognized and appreciated.
Toward the end of her life, Diane’s family was very grateful for all the help and support provided by Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
She is survived by her sister, Pauline Marsh and her husband, Donald, of Lewiston; her brother, Roland, of Florida; her brother, Dr. Paul Laprise and his wife, Cindy, of Biddeford; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, one great-great-niece and many cousins.
