AUBURN – Dillingham & Sons defeated M & P Auto Parts, 16-7, in Auburn Suburban Minor League baseball.
Boden Dock led Dillingham & Sons with five hits, including two doubles and a triple. Storm Jipson, Dylan Sellinger and Nate McBride each contributed four hits apiece.
Hunter Langlois and Keegan Pelletier had two hits apiece for M & P. Both of Langlois’ hits were doubles.
Dube Flower beat Aubuchon Hardware in an opening-day Major Division game. Brady Cusson notched 11 strikeouts to lead Dube on the mound. Cusson also went 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs scored. Nick Harden hit a three-run homer to left center to seal the victory. Marciano Webster scored the sole run for Aubuchon and also struck out two of the five batters he faced.
LEWISTON – Hammond Lumber picked up its first win of the season in its second try, downing Dube Gravel, 16-6, in South Lewiston Little League’s Major Division.
Jacob Strout pitched four strong innings for Hammond, walking three and striking out two. Noah Jalbert came in to close out the last two innings and seal the win. Elijah Harris went 4-for-4 at the plate for Hammond with three singles and a triple. Ryan Bell played a spectacular game, combining his inside-the-park home run with solid defense. Colby Bilodeau, Garrett Poussard, Jalbert and Strout also contributed at the plate.
Ben Doyle and Jeremy Madore each cracked a triple for Dube. Doyle and Madore also contributed with a strong pitching performance. Matthew Forgues took the mound late in the game and held the Hammond bats silent to close out the fifth inning.
