Dinner scheduled in Buckfield to talk about emergency planning


BUCKFIELD — Residents of Buckfield, Hartford and Sumner are invited to a free community dinner Friday, May 14, at the Buckfield High School to help residents learn how to help themselves and their neighbors in an emergency.

The dinner is made possible with grants from the Maine Emergency Management Agency.  The towns were awarded a federal Homeland Security Grant totaling $10,624 and included in the grant was funding for the dinner.

 At 5:30 p.m. there will be distribution of materials from the Fire Departments, Buckfield Rescue, Animal Rescue Team, Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT), Food Security and Neighbors Care. Lynette Miller from the Mane Emergency Management Agency will be the speaker at 6:45.

State Representatives have been invited and many have responded.

The deadline for reservations is Wednesday, May 4. Call Lana at 388-2904, Wilda at 388-2981 or Tom at 388-3041 for reservations. Entree choices are chicken cordon bleu or stuffed shells.
