DIXFIELD — Residents who want to run for one of two selectmen’s seats, or a seat on the board of Western Foothills Regional School Unit 10 may pick up nominating papers at the Dixfield Town Office.
The selectmen seats currently held by James Desjardins, Sugarloaf Avenue, and Raymond “Tiny” Carlton, Pine Street, are up for election. Desjardins has served a three-year term and Carlton, at least two, three-year terms.
Also up this year is the seat held by Nova Street resident Bruce Ross on the RSU 10 board. Prior to sitting on the board of the newly formed district, Ross served on the board of the former SAD 21.
Those wishing to run for one of the elective seats must gather the signatures of no fewer than 25, nor greater than 75 registered Dixfield voters.
The nominating papers must be returned to the town office by 4 p.m., April 23.
The election will take place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 8 at the American Legion Hall.
