DIXFIELD — With each article passing decisively, voters Tuesday approved the 2018-19 municipal budget, according to Town Clerk Theresa Hemingway.

Despite a drop in the proposed municipal budget for Dixfield, increases in the school and county assessments mean an increase of $330,493 for 2018-19.

Town Manager Carlo Puiia said the largest increase in the budget of $4.94 million, which does not include revenue sharing and other credits coming to the town, is “reflected by the school (RSU 56) receiving less subsidy from the state.”

Puiia noted this town budget is the first in some time that does not have the town facing large capital expenses because Dixfield is in good shape with its equipment.

The same is true with road construction because so much work has been done over the past four years, he said.
