Dixfield wind ordinance on board agenda

DIXFIELD – The Planning Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Ludden Memorial Library to discuss possible revisions to the latest draft of the town’s Wind Energy Facility Ordinance.

In November 2012, voters approved a wind ordinance drafted by then-Selectmen Norine Clarke and Stephen Donahue.

In early 2013, selectmen voted to send the draft to the Planning Board and tasked it to amend some of the language.

Residents rejected an amended version from the Planning Board in November 2014, and as a result, the Board of Selectmen voted to place the Planning Board’s original draft before residents in June. It was defeated 359-390.

Town Manager Carlo Puiia said the Planning Board will review the ordinance again and discuss which revisions to include in the latest draft.

Board of Selectmen Chairman Hart Daley said the revised ordinance will likely go to voters in June 2016.
