Dolloffs celebrate their 50th


PERU – A 50th wedding anniversary party was held on Aug. 27 for Bob and Shirley Dolloff of Peru at the Mountain View Campground. Their five children and families hosted the party. A buffet style lunch was served and a photo display was featured.

They were married on Sept. 15, 1956. Mrs. Dolloff is the daughter of the late Willard and Maggie Wyman of Rumford, and Mr. Dolloff is the son of the late Eldon G. Dolloff and Ada Dolloff Vaughn of Peru.

Alden Wyman, brother of Mrs. Dolloff, escorted her down the aisle and Lorraine Weiss was maid of honor, Clyde Kerr was best man and Eldon “Bill” Dolloff and Jim Robertson were the ushers.

They have 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

There were more than 150 people who attended to help celebrate this special occasion, with some coming from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, Virginia Beach and all over Maine. Also in attendance were two from the original party, Alden Wyman and Jim Robertson.

Mrs. Dolloff is a retired school teacher and Mr. Dolloff is retired from Mead Paper Mill. They have many hobbies and volunteer for various organizations and church activities that keep them busy.
