1935 – 2013
AUBURN — Donald E. Brown Sr., 77, of Lisbon, passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Trenton, on April 25, 1935, a son of the late Caroll and Florence (Merch) Brown. He was married to Annette (Gauthier) Brown until her death on Dec. 18, 2003. In 2006, he married Cecilia Bourget. He was a self-employed trucker for most of his life. His trucking company was named Deb Trucking. He proudly served his country from 1954 to 1957 in the U.S. Army. He was a hard-working man who loved to tinker, often buying cars, fixing them up, and reselling them. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending precious time with his family.
Donald is survived by his second wife, Cecilia; three children, Diane Freeman and her husband, Jeff, of Sabattus, Donna Marquis and her husband, Paul, of Sabattus, his son, Donald Brown Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Crystal River, Fla.; three grandchildren, Donald Godsoe, Rene Hoglund and Amy Sorber; four great-grandchildren, Carter, Taylor, Aaron, Tyler; and six stepchildren.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Annette in 2003, his brother Richard Thompson and his sister Jeannie Brown.
