Donations being collected for Tree Street Youth Center

AUBURN — Bedard is hosting a donation drive to benefit the Tree Street Youth Center, a nonprofit organization in downtown Lewiston. The mission of Tree Street Youth is to support the youth of Lewiston/Auburn through academics, the arts and athletics, while providing a safe place that encourages healthy physical, emotional and academic development, while building unity across lines of difference.

“Each day the center serves between 120-150 youth grades K-12. We push them to be successful in their futures and to strive towards breaking down barriers and improving/contributing to the communities in which they live,” said Julia Sleeper, executive director and co-founder of Tree Street Youth.

Tree Street Youth could not exist without the support of community donations. Items needed include new and gently used art and music items, sports equipment, cleaning supplies, office supplies and monetary donations.

Donations can be dropped off at any Bedard Pharmacy or Medical Supplies location at 61 College St. in Lewiston or 359 Minot Ave. in Auburn until Feb. 15. Donations will be delivered to the center on Feb. 17.
