LEWISTON — Dorothy A. Kemp, 71, a resident of Monmouth, died on Monday, Jan. 8, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 9, 1946, the daughter of Rosario H. and Hannah (Kemp) LeMay. She attended Lewiston schools.
On July 4, 1990, she married Charles Kemp; he passed away in 1999. Dottie had been employed at Heritage Rehabilitation Living Center (Heritage Manor) in Winthrop, working as a dietary aide and also in housekeeping; she retired in 2004. Dottie enjoyed camping and gardening.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Hamel, Hannah Cadwell and Deborah Howe; two sons, Robert and John Cadwell; her son-in-law, Richard Berube; six grandchildren who were especially dear to her, Deirdre, Nathan, Aaron, Joe, Stephanie, David; three great-granddaughters, Ilah, Jade, Erykah; two stepsons, Stanwood and Dennis Kemp; four stepdaughters, Charlene Kemp, Elaine Bragdon, Rowena Fletcher and Arlene Richard. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Charles Kemp; a son, George Cadwell; a granddaughter, Cassandra Howe; a great-granddaughter, Zoey Smith; and a stepson, Sherwood Kemp.
