NORWAY — Dorothy I. Godin, 79, formerly of Waldo Street, Rumford, died Sunday, April 11, at Stephens Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.
She was born in Rumford, June 25, 1930, a daughter of Gordon and Helen (Rowkowsky) Hill. She was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School.
She married Eugene Godin on Oct. 18, 1958, and they celebrated 46 years of marriage together. She was employed with Oxford Paper Co. for several years. She was a member of the Women’s Fireman Auxiliary and enjoyed going to the yearly fireman conventions.
She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and was a member of the Smith Crossing Mothers Club for many years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing crafts and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Michael F. Godin Sr. and wife, Luanne J., of Norway; and three grandchildren, Michael F. Godin Jr., David R. Godin and girlfriend, Amanda Crowder, and Hope N. Godin.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Eugene Godin; and a sister, Lois Spydell.
