Dorothy L. Minigell


FRYEBURG – Dorothy Lucy Minigell, 96, of Brownfield, died Wednesday, April 5, at the Fryeburg Health Care Center, where she resided for the past six months. Before that, she was a resident of the Casco Inn for six years.

Born in Haverhill, Mass., April 25, 1909, a daughter of Joseph and Virginia Pascucci Lebro, she graduated from Haverhill High School. She was married to Vincent Leo Minigell Nov. 11, 1929. He died in 2003.

They settled in the North Shore area of Massachusetts in her younger years. She worked as a telephone operator and then at General Electric in Lynn, Mass., for 26 years.

She spent her retirement years living between Pine River Pond in New Hampshire in the summer and in North Fort Myers in the winter. The Minigells made North Fort Myers their home for 30 years, before coming to Maine in 1999.

She was an excellent cook, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, shuffle board, bicycling and traveling by motorcoach. She was an avid Red Sox fan. She loved playing cards, especially pinochle and bridge.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Keelan Carr and Elaine Minigell, both of Brownfield; a daughter-in-law, Mary Minigell of Poland; 10 grandchildren and spouses, Elaine and Jack Paez, Joseph Keelan, John Keelan, Michaele and Charles Bailey, Patricia and Gary Treworgy, Vincent and Catherine Minigell, Francis and Dawn Minigell, Laurie and Arliele Minigell, Jayne Minigell and Michael and Michelle Minigell; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Vinnie Minigell in 2003; and a son, Anthony Minigell in 1999.
