PROSPECT — The Ten Bucks Theatre will present the play, “Dracula,” adapted by Steven Dietz, from Bram Stoker’s classic novel and is being directed by Benjamin Layman, at historic Fort Knox in Prospect. The production will span eight evenings, beginning each night at 7 p.m., Aug.6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 16. Tickets for each performance are $10 per person and may be bought the evening of the performance or in advance by calling the Friends of Fort Knox gift shop at 207-469-6553. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to place on the fort parade ground for the show.
“Dracula is a tale of seduction and horror, taking place in 1897, between London and Transylvania. We follow our heroes as they attempt to save society, and themselves, from the damned Count Dracula,” according to a news release from the theater. The theater advises that stage violence, faux blood and fire will be part of the theatrical production.
Leon Seymour, Friends of Fort Knox executive director said FFK will host other events at the fort in August, including the annual Paranormal/Psychic Faire, Aug. 15 and 16 and the Pirate Festival, Saturday, Aug. 22.
