KINGFIELD – An old-fashioned car hop drive-in will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19, at the Woodsman.

Along with root beer floats, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and fries, hot dogs, chilidogs and frappes served to customers at their car, there will also be a DJ, a car show and raffles.

The car show will include antique and classic cars, motorcycles, trucks and four-wheelers.

There is a $5 registration fee for the show. Rain date is May 20, and it is sponsored by Friends and Family Ties of the American Cancer Foundation.

DAR speaker

FARMINGTON – Colonial Daughters Chapter, DAR, will meet at the home of Theo Walker starting at noon Tuesday, May 23.

A light lunch sandwich swap will be held by members and guests, followed by featured speaker, State Rep. Janet Mills. Hostesses will be Theo Walker, Jolene Bowdoin and Deborah Judkins.

STARKS – Helping Hands Thrift Store is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The store is located on Chicken Street.
