Durham Democrats to convene 2012 caucus on Feb. 26

DURHAM — The Durham Democratic Committee will host its biennial town caucus on Sunday, Feb. 26, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Durham Fire Department on Hallowell Road (Route 9).

All registered Durham Democrats and those who wish to enroll as a Democrat are invited to attend. To register, bring identification, proof of residency and arrive at the event promptly at 1:30 p.m.

Everyone at the caucus will be eligible to become a delegate to the state Democratic convention taking place in Augusta in June. Also, town and county committee members will be elected, and election clerks will be nominated.

Nichole Mitchell Stevens of New Gloucester, the candidate for House District 105, and former state Sen. John Cleveland, running for the District 15 Senate seat (Durham, New Gloucester, Poland and Auburn), will speak at the caucus.
