DVDs taken in two home burglaries

NEW SHARON — A number of movies, DVDs, were taken from a Swan Road home sometime Tuesday during the day, said Lt. Niles Yeaton of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

The homeowner came home to find someone had broken into the house by forcing the front door open. The house and contents had been gone through and numerous movies had been taken but apparently nothing else.

The New Sharon burglary follows a similar incident Sunday in New Vineyard where another home was entered and DVDs were taken, he said.

Police believe the two are connected and do have some leads as they continue their investigation, he said.

Deputy Heidi Gould responded to the New Sharon incident and Deputy Chris Chase is working on the New Vineyard case.
