Earth Day will be celebrated in Bridgton


BRIDGTON — The town of Bridgton has announced the following activities to be held on Thursday, April 22, National Earth Day:

A clean-up on Main Street, Depot Street and Stevens Brook will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers will meet at the Bridgton Community Center, 15 Depot St. Lunch for volunteers will be at noon at the Bridgton Fire Station, Gibbs Avenue. Call 242-9417 to volunteer.

A Stevens Brook Trail walk lead by LEA will begin at 10 a.m.

Free kite making will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bridgton Community Center. Also during this time, community members can create messages on the “Mother Earth Graffiti Wall” inside the center.

An open house and demonstration will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mo’s Electric and Solar, Depot Street, across from the center. Attendees can stop in and experience green energy at work.

A walk through the Bald Pate Mountain Preserve at Loon Echo will take place at 3 p.m. The day’s events will conclude at 5 p.m. with a celebration at Bray’s in Naples.
