Easter isn’t for veterans

I read the letter from Myrtle Cadenelli (April 21), who could not understand why there were no flags flying at Gracelawn cemetery on Easter Sunday to commemorate veterans.

I’m not trying to be sarcastic, but I believe she got something mixed up. The veterans have Memorial Day and Veterans Day on which to be remembered with parades and flags.

Easter is the day that Jesus arose from the dead and ascended into heaven so that we could have eternal life. That is what we’re supposed to celebrate on Easter; not veterans and what they have done.
