Eastern Star to honor Coast Guard


WALES – Lakeside Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Grange-Masonic Hall at 322 Centre Road to honor members of the U.S. Coast Guard.

It will be preceded by the Chapter’s celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Eastern Star Training and Religious Learning Scholarship Program to train spiritual leaders in and for the community with a communal supper at 6 p.m.

Lakeside is providing the Main Dish, Pioneer Chapter, Lisbon Falls, the desserts, and Pine Cone Chapter, Auburn, the salads. The cost is $3, and the proceeds will be split among the Chapters and applied towards the giving stars awarded at Grand Chapter. The District Deputy said the District No. 4 Mascot of the “God Keeps His promises Grand Chapter” is at Electa Chapter No. 2 in Bowdoinham for their Official Visitation Meeting with the Associate Grand Matron, Julieanne B. Irving, on Thursday, Aug. 17, and will be awarded to the Chapter with the largest number of members for their next meeting.

The Secretary reminds all members of the opportunity to work together at the Worthy Matron’s Special Project to be held on Aug. 17 in the Auburn Masonic Hall at 9 a.m.
