SUMNER — For years the Mother’s Club has organized an Easter Egg hunt on the grounds of the Congregational Church in East Sumner. This year celebrates the 25th anniversary of the hunt.
Children will search for hundreds of plastic eggs stuffed with candy and gift certificates hidden in the grass, according to Wilda Dunham from the Mother’s Club. There will also be a drawing for a bicycle.
The Mother’s Club is involved with several activities involving the children of the community. Dunham says the group sponsors swimming lessons in the summer and send gifts and cards to ill or injured children, among other things.
Operation Santa Clause will be participating this year with the Mother’s Club. Children will be able to have their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny and donations will go toward Operation Santa Clause.
The hunt begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, at the East Sumner Congregational Church and will last until noon.
There will be refreshments and Dunham encourages children to bring baskets for the hunt.
