TAMPA, Fla. — Elizabeth Purington Gendron, 82, passed away Feb. 18, in Tampa, Fla., where she had resided for many years.
She was born in Lewiston, July 30, 1929, the daughter of Norman and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Purington. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1947, and in 1951, married a classmate, Joseph Emile Gendron.
A military wife, she traveled extensively while raising their four children. After her husband retired from the Army, they settled in Tampa, where she was a lay minister at St. Mary’s Church.
Survivors include her four children, Joseph N. Gendron and wife, Kathryn, of Warsaw, Ind., John Gendron and wife, Debbie, of Cranberry Township, Pa., Norman Gendron of Tampa, and Catherine Gendron of Brooksville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Joseph A. Gendron and Lauren E. Gendron of Warsaw, Ind.; a sister, Mary Lachance of San Antonio, Fla.; and two brothers, Norman Purington and wife, Connie, of Arizona, and Bernard Purington and wife, Rolande, of Jay.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Gendron; and a brother, Thomas Purington.
