Elmer A. Morneault


LEWISTON – Elmer A. Morneault, 70, of 5 Hemlock Circle, Auburn, died Tuesday, July 17, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

He was born in Madawaska Nov. 12, 1936 a son of the late Abel and Nelida Martin Morneault. He attended Bucksport Seminary for four years and attended the Bar Harbor Seminary.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. Prior to moving to Auburn, he belonged to St. Louis Parish in Fort Kent and served as president of the parish council and assisted at Marriage Encounter weekends with his wife. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council / Fourth Degree member, and a member of the Rotary Club in Fort Kent.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Rejeanne G. Gervais of Auburn, whom he married July 9, 1959; four daughters, Monique Morneault of Lewiston, Michelle Morneault of Auburn, Marcelle Pare, and husband, Mark, of Turner and Mona St. Pierre, and husband, Julien, of Winthrop; a son, Matthew Morneault of Canaan; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sarah Pare, Adam and Aaron St. Pierre; a sister, Cecilia Plourde, and husband, James, of Madawaska; two brothers, Joel, and his wife, Lise Morneault, of Bangor and Martin Morneault of St. David.
