Empty Bowls supper set for May 15

AUBURN — Trinity Jubilee Center’s 7th annual Empty Bowls Supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:40 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at the First Universalist Church on Pleasant Street. Diners attending this event purchase hand-made bowls created by Maine artisans and students and receive a meal of soup, bread, beverage and dessert, all donated by local establishments.

Pottery for this year’s supper was created by Cabin Pottery, Ash Cove Pottery, Amy Bilodeau, Dragonflower Pottery, Edgecomb Potters, Georgetown Pottery, Muddy Hand Designs, The Mudroom Pottery Studio, The Potter’s House, Pottery by Celia, S Designs, Saltbox Pottery, Sheepscot River Pottery and the students of Edward Little and St. Dom’s high schools.

Soup will be provided by Chopstick’s, DaVinci’s, Gippers, The Green Ladle Restaurant at LRTC, Hurricane’s Deli and Marco’s; bread will be provided by The Bread Shack and Italian Bakery; and desserts will be provided by Governor’s Restaurant, Sam’s Catering and Subway. Violinist Greg Boardman and his string students will provide background music for diners.

The Empty Bowls Supper will benefit Trinity Jubilee Center, a soup kitchen and food pantry serving those in need in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area. Bowl prices start at $10 (depending on bowl selected) and are available at the door.
