LEWISTON — Creative presenters — painters, writers, dancers, composers, sculptors, actors, teacher, entrepreneurs — are being sought for LA’s Pecha Kucha Night 2.

Pecha Kucha Night is a high-energy evening when creative folks come together to share ideas. Ten presenters are featured at each event. Each one shows and talks about 20 images for 20 seconds each. That’s six minutes and 40 seconds.

The pace is fast, but there is time built into the program for people to meet and chat.

LA’s debut Pecha Kucha Night was held at Gallery 5 in January.

“During the two years that I managed Gallery 5, I was awed by the number of creative people in our community and the impact that they have on our daily lives,” said Tammie Grieshaber, owner of Mainely Kids Photography, who initiated the event.

If you would like to present your work at LA’s Pecha Kucha Night 2, e-mail the following information to [email protected]:

Name, profession and phone number; 2 or 3 images only of your work (saved as jpgs, each image maximum size: 1280 x 768); a bio on yourself; and a description of what you’d like to present.

The deadline for submissions is March 11.

Pecha Kucha Night was started in Tokyo by Klein Dytham Architecture in 2003 as a way for young designers to network and show their work.

LA’s Pecha Kucha Night 2 will be held Friday, March 26, at the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce office. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The presentations will begin at 6:15.
