Eva B. Povelite


West Paris – Eva B. Povelite, 93, of Franklin Annex Road in South Rumford, died Saturday, Dec. 30, at Ledgeview Living Center with loving family members at her side.

She was born in Riley, on March 4, 1913, a daughter of Joseph and Roseanne (Collette) Breau. She was educated in Jay schools.

She went to work at an early age, and was employed for 47 years with Diamond Match Co.

She married Anthony Povelite on July 25, 1932, and together they shared 55 years of marriage, many of these years were on Povelite Farm.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church and the Le Parasseux Snow Shoe Club.

She enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, gardening and ceramics.

At the age of 89, she was still out mowing the lawn and snowblowing.

She loved to cook for her grandchildren; her specialty being potato pancakes and homegrown carrots.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. McDonald, and husband, Bill, of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Irving P. Povelite, and wife, Kathy, of Mims, Fla. and David A. Povelite, and wife, Carole, of Andover; 15 grandchildren, Michael Kenney, and wife, Barbara, Timothy Kenney, and wife, Kim, Linda Puiia, and husband, Tom, Pamela Beauchesne, and husband, Michael, Scott Kenney, Randy Povelite, Darren Povelite, and wife, Rose, Terry Povelite, Wendy Povelite, Irving Povelite Jr., and wife, Patty, Kevin Povelite, and wife, Cindy, Joelle Povelite, Jessica Povelite, Jeremy and Jason; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Anthony; four sisters, Geneva, Elizabeth, Marie and Grace; and two brothers, Clarence and Henry.
