Evelyn B. Albert
1928 – 2010
Auburn — Evelyn B. Albert, 81, of 25 Woodside Drive, Lewiston died Wednesday, April 7th, at Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
Born in Auburn on Nov. 15, 1928, a daughter of the late Fred and Helena Wilkinson Beane, she graduated from Edward Little High School in the Class of 1946.
She was employed by the Dunlap Insurance Agency for 28 years and retired in 1992. Prior to Dunlap, she was employed at R.I. Mitchell for many years.
She was a member and past president of the Androscoggin Insurance Women’s Association, and a member of the Women’s Literary Union, AARP, and Lewiston Senior Citizens.
She had a great love for all of her relatives in the Wilkinson Family. Sunday afternoon gatherings at her grandparent’s home in New Auburn and holidays and summer reunions shared with them were an important part of her life.
Evelyn loved to travel with Lucien as they attended regular reunions, held in many cities in the United States and in England, of the retired members of the 8th Air Force, Second Division, where Lucien served during WWII. Making scrapbooks and photo albums of their travels gave her many years of pleasure.
She is survived by her husband Lucien Albert of Lewiston, whom she married June 19, 1959; a step-son, Michael Albert and his wife, Joanne, of Greene; grandchildren Jeremy Albert and Angela Lyle and her husband, Michael; a great-granddaughter, Aspen Albert; a cousin, Ruth Krauth of Lewiston and nephew Dean Krauth and his son Dane Krauth, and nephew Wayne Krauth of Standish; cousins Marilyn Wilkinson, Dorothy Boyer, Janet Wilkinson and her daughters Cindy and Wendy and Debra Wilkinson; and many dear friends.
