Ex-cop charged with false report of stolen vehicle

LIVERMORE FALLS – A former police officer has been charged with reporting his pickup truck stolen after it was in a wreck on Crash Road in Jay last week.

Eric Goodrow, 25, of Wilton, a former Jay officer and part-time Livermore Falls officer, was charged Sunday with unsworn falsification.

The charge was brought by Livermore Falls police officer Joe Sage.

Goodrow had reported his truck stolen late April 4 from Livermore Falls, telling police that the vehicle had guns inside of it, said Livermore Falls Chief Ernest Steward Jr. on Monday.

Jay police found the truck totaled after it had gone off Crash Road and hit some trees. The driver had left the scene.

The guns were recovered in the truck.

Goodrow is scheduled to appear Aug. 9 in 8th District Court in Lewiston.
