Faith A. Footman

1939 – 2013

AUBURN — There’s a little less sunshine in the world today as we mourn the loss of our beloved sister, Faith. Faith entered into eternal rest in the arms of her Lord at the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House in Auburn following a brief illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 5, 1939, a daughter of the late Wallace Footman and Bella Lena (St. Germain) Vye and Robert E. Vye.

Faith’s life was filled with love for country music and she had a knack for creating her own songs and stories that brought smiles to the faces of many. She loved colored paper and cutting out different shapes and sizes, making up her own games with them. Faith also loved to draw and created some very interesting and amazing artwork, sometimes including Egyptian themes.

Over her lifetime, Faith made many friends and won the hearts of staff and residents alike at the FARE house in Turner and the Twarog Center in Auburn, where she participated in various fun-filled activities. Faith knew the Twarog Center as going to see Mary Ann.

She is survived by two brothers, Robert Footman and his wife, Shirley, of Greene, Gary Vye and his wife, Nadine, of Great Falls, Mont.; two sisters, Mary Sylvain-Leonas and her husband, Frank, of Greene, Jill Arsenault and her husband, Daniel, of Auburn. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Faith was predeceased by a sister, Frances Bishop; and a brother, Randy Vye.

The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to the doctors and nurses at CMMC and the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House for their care and devotion to Faith. We also wish to express our special thanks to the current and former staff of the LEAP Organization, especially those at the FARE House where she resided. Faith will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
