Farmington Emblem Club initiates new member

FARMINGTON – Farmington Emblem Club 460 initiated a new member, Kathy Charboneau, into the club recently. That brings the total membership to 109.

Nancy Chase, Americanism chairwoman, gave a reading, and Shannon Smith reported on the outcome of the Emblem Club basket beano games held at the West Farmington Elks lodge on April 2.

The club voted on a person to be honored at the May meeting as the “Citizen of the Year.”

Members were reminded of the “Members Night Out” to take place Tuesday, May 9, at the Chuck Wagon in Livermore Falls. Smith will collect for the meal. The club will say goodbye that evening to two active members, Diana (Sarge) Jahn and Agatha Forsyth, who will move.

Farmington Emblem and Elks Lodge members have been practicing for a music show to take place Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22. Dress rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, April 19.

Committee members gave their end-of-the-year reports. The club voted to help send two girls to Girls State, one from Wilton and one from Farmington; to donate to the Mt. Blue Cultural Exchange Program; and to help cook for a Wednesday, May 10, “Girls Talk” supper.

Annette Pound won the 50-50 raffle and Shannon Smith the mystery gift.
