Farmington police to train at W.G. Mallett School

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Police Department is planning a full day of training on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at W.G. Mallett School.

The training will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and involves the scenario of an active-shooter incident, police Chief Jack Peck said.

Farmington Fire and Rescue and NorthStar employees will also participate.

The training is done every year at different schools, but it is usually done at night, he said.

Peck wanted to alert people about the training because residents might question the sight of ambulances and police and fire vehicles parked around the school.
