Festival committee looking for vendors

MEXICO – The Mountain Music Festival Committee is looking for people who would like to be vendors on July 1 and 2. Weekend activities will include a craft show/flea market/yard sale. Interested persons may rent a 10-foot-by-20-foot space for $15 a day.

Vendors will need to provide their own tables and chairs. It is an outdoor market so vendors may need their own awnings also.

Hours will be 9 a.m. to dusk Saturday and Sunday. The committee is offering overnight camping at an additional charge. Setup can begin at noon on Friday, June 30. Deadline for reservations is Thursday, June 1.

Saturday, July 1, there will be a kid’s carnival, a “cruise-in” for area car clubs, a motorcycle rodeo, a car “burnout” and live music throughout the evening, ending with a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. Admission is free.

Sunday’s performers will include the Don Campbell Band, local artist Jim Gallant, Bill Chinook and his All-Star Band, Barney Martin and Coos Canyon, as well as local bands throughout the day. There is a $15 ticket charge for Sunday’s events. Concessions will be open both days.

The Friends of the Mexico Rec Park are also looking for volunteers. Help is needed on weekends from now until the date of the festival. It will entail cleaning up and getting the park ready for the weekend. Volunteers will also be needed that weekend. Interested persons should call the committee.
