PHIPPSBURG — Traditional fiddler and folk singer Lissa Schneckenburger will perform in concert with guitarist Bethany Waickman on Friday, April 16, at the Congregational Church. Together, they will present acoustic renditions of traditional ballads and fiddle tunes.
As an active member of the folk music community, Schneckenburger continues to explore musical traditions, embracing a diverse palette of influences while staying true to her New England roots.
Her fiddling is uplifting and lively and her singing gentle and evocative. Both in concert and in the studio she is regularly accompanied by some of the countries best musicians. Recently, she has been closely studying the roots of the Downeast traditional music that she first heard as a young girl.
The 7:30 p.m. concert is part of the Community Concert Series at the church at 10 Church Lane. Tickets are $10, $6 for students and children. For more information, visit www.phippsburgucc.org or www.lissafiddle.com.
