LEWISTON — The silent auction fundraiser and sneak preview of this year’s Lewiston Auburn Film Festival has been rescheduled to Friday, March 2, due to impending stormy weather.
The event, originally set for March1, will still take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Royal Oak Room at IronHorse Court on One Bates St.
LAFF will show trailers of some of the many films accepted into this year’s festival to be held in April. In addition, the music video “L/A” from popular P.A.L. Hop band The Rockin’ Recons will be premiered. Band members are expected to attend.
Also on Friday, LAFF organizers will announce the nominees for four People’s Choice awards for feature length film, short film, documentary and experimental film. Organizers will also give three awards for Best Director, Best Maine Film and Best in Festival, chosen by a panel of judges.
“Determining the nominees was a very difficult process this year due to the overwhelmingly high quality of submissions. The nominees are just a sampling of what LAFF has in store this year,” said LAFF Board Chair Sandra Marquis.
Suggested donation: $5 donation at the door; no ticket is required. All are welcome to attend, but note that not all previews may be suitable for children under 18. For more information, call 713-4672 or visit www.lafilmfestival.org.
