Florence A. Guay


Lewiston – Florence A. Guay, 95, of Lewiston, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Marshwood Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation, where she resided the past 2 years.

She was born in Brockton, Mass., on Nov. 1, 1911, the daughter of Octave Cloutier and Alice V. (Simard) Cloutier. She was educated in local schools and on June 23, 1930, married Leo J. Guay at St. Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston. He passed away in 1968.

Prior to her retirement, she worked in the textile industry, namely the Pepperell and Bates Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Holy Cross Church and the Holy Cross Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed making puzzles, crafts, travel and shopping.

She is survived by her son, Robert Guay, and wife, Carmen, of Lisbon; two daughters, Rolande Pomerleau, and husband, Raymond, of Vero Beach, Fla. and Sylvia Latulippe, and husband, Robert, of Lewiston; eight grandchildren, Paul Guay, and wife, Diane, of Cape Elizabeth, Helen Fournier, and husband, Marc, of Biddeford, Dennis Pomerleau, and wife, Gail, of Litchfield, Denise Barker of Lewiston, Claire Laplante, and husband, Maurice, of Sabattus, Marcel Pomerleau, and wife, Lynn, of Wales, Roger Latulippe of Lewiston, Marc Latulippe, and wife, Shannon, of Wilmington, Del.; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Romeo Cloutier.
