Flying Changes Center to celebrate ponies


TOPSHAM – Flying Changes Center for Therapeutic Riding will hold a Pony Day Family Festival from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Center, Route 201. It will run rain or shine inside the stable and indoor riding arena.

The event is designed to involve children and parents in a “Pony Day” of activities for all in an effort to raise funds to support programs at Flying Changes. Since 1992, the nonprofit organization has provided services to 60 to 80 special needs children and adults each week and is premier accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association.

Activities will include pony theme crafts, pony rides, a silent auction, performances by Maine singer/songwriter Rachel Griffin, farm animals to pet/observe, adoptable animals from the Coastal Humane Society, a farmers market, horseshoe toss and food and prizes.

Staff will be available to talk with parent about programs, including the summer horsemanship camp.
