Former Vegas singer will join Mike Willette band for concert


LEWISTON – Allyn Gamble will be guest vocalist with The Mike Willette Swing Band at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Franco-American Heritage Center. Gamble was a principal singer in a variety of productions in Las Vegas from 1975 to 1990 at the Stardust Hotel, MGM Grand, Tropicana, Flamingo, and the Dunes Hotels. She has also performed with Frank Sinatra Jr. at a “Celebrity Cabaret” on the HBO network.

Gamble’s other credits include winner of The Miss Maine Pageant in 1971, and fourth runner-up to the Miss America Pageant in 1972; the opening act for Johnny Carson and George Carlin at the Sahara Hotel; and featured singer in many exclusive hotel lounges and private clubs in San Francisco.

Gamble recently returned to the Greater Portland area, where she is a member of the Miss Maine Pageant board of directors. She also donates her time and singing abilities to the Maine Chapter of the American Heart Association and the Maine Cancer Foundation. Gamble is currently the resident manager for Camp Hammond in Yarmouth. She continues to sing professionally and teaches vocal technique and performance.
