Foster kids, families attend holiday party

LEWISTON – The Tri-County Foster Parents Association recently sponsored a holiday party for foster children and their foster families. Many members of the Lewiston-Auburn professional and business community supported their efforts.

The Rotary Club of Auburn-Lewiston, the Bar Association of Androscoggin County and many individual attorneys from the community provided financial contributions toward gifts for more than 70 children in foster care.

In-kind donations were received from businesses, the Auburn Exchange Club, the Shriners and the Lewiston Maineiacs.

Approximately 70 children from the Lewiston-Auburn community attended the event. The focus was to support foster children, since many of them spent the holiday season away from their own families.

The holiday party was hosted by Lewiston District Court on Dec. 19. Community support led to an afternoon of holiday food, entertainment and gifts for foster children with their foster families.
