Fourth of July plans set for Waterford


WATERFORD – The town’s Fourth of July parade begins at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Memorial School on Route 35.

Floats, animals and marchers assemble at 10:30 a.m. The parade will run from the school down Main Street to the Waterford Town House by Keoka Lake. All floats and vehicles will continue on to the town garage.

Routes 35 and 37 will be closed from 11:15 a.m. to noon and traffic will be rerouted up Mill Hill, across Passaconaway Road back to Route 37 by the Waterford Post Office. Traffic on Route 35 going to and from Bethel and Stoneham will take Route 118 to Route 37 to pick up the detour route.

Parking along Main Street will be limited to the handicapped. General parking will be in Rounds’ field.

Other events include a Wilkins House breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m., the annual book sale at the Waterford Library and various sales and events on the Town Common.
