Francis “Pat” W. Ryerson


SOUTH PARIS — Francis “Pat” W. Ryerson, 92, of South Paris, passed away at the Maine Veterans’ Home on Saturday, April 17.

He was born in Norway on April 4, 1918, the son of William and Maude Buck Ryerson. He attended Paris schools and had been a woodsman most of his life. He received an award for the best skidder driver in the state of Maine in the early 1960s.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married to Blanche Hatstat and had seven children and five stepchildren. He is survived by Leroy Patten Sr. of Bethel, Stanley Patten of Auburn, Dan M. Patten Sr. of Machiasport, Yvonne Hill of Sumner, Lorraine Ryerson-Greene of West Paris, Edward and Donna Ryerson of Florida, Raymond Ryerson of Florida, Jane Moore of Wales, Linda and David Seams of South Paris, Joseph Ryerson of Norway and Jeanette Ryerson of Auburn; 39 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by Charles Patten. He will be missed by all who knew him.
