Frank A. Wallace
1917 – 2010
LISBON FALLS — Frank A. Wallace, 93, of Main Street, Lisbon Falls, died Thursday, April 1, at Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick.
Frank was born in Harpswell on March 21, 1917, a son of Walter L. and Gertrude L. Southard Wallace. He attended Harpswell schools and was owner/operator of a janitorial service, and was known as a man of many trades. He had worked for Bowdoin College, Lincoln Academy, Grand City, and Hannaford Supermarket in Damariscotta, as well as other locations. He worked at Brunswick Manufacturing for a time and also was a lobsterman for many years in Harpswell and Pemaquid.
For more than 40 years, he served as Santa Clause during Christmas time in Brunswick, Richmond and Lisbon Falls. Frank was an avid cribbage and pool player, and enjoyed restoring old homes.
He served in the Army National Guard from 1948 to 1951.
Surviving are two sons, Robbie Wallace of Newry, and Brian Wallace and his wife, Janet, of Bismarck, N.D.; two daughters, Pearlette Kellett and her husband, Robert, of Bath, and Cynthia Cote and her husband, Paul, of Cumberland; his stepchildren, Roberta and husband, Donald Lamoreau, of Bowdoinham, Sherri and husband, Robert Johnson, of Exeter, Linda and husband, Pastor Richard Hoff, of Westport, N.Y., Janet and husband, Richard Spinney, of Edgecomb, Nancy and husband, Jay Ransom, of, East Barre, Vt., Sharon and husband, David Lash, of South Berwick, Brian Grover and wife, Debbie, of Windsor, Stephen Grover and his wife, Gail, of Splendora, Texas, and Leonard Grover and his wife, Jo, of Tacoma, Wash.; a very special person in his life, Shirley Hoff; a brother, Lloyd Wallace of Harpswell; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Ethel (Clowes) Wallace who died in 1963.
